Can't change page to default url

Any advice for a newb on getting the home page I created to land on the default website.com, instead of website.com/permalinkname? I try to delete the "main" from the permalink title so it will redirect to simply website.com but it won't delete. To get to my homepage, one has to enter website.com/main. Thanks

Are you using wordpress and is the domain something like website.com/main/wp-admin?

Hi Ellen,
Try to change it under the Appearance settings in the wordpress dashboard. Choose "customize".
on the Slide-out, choose "Home Page Settings".
Then you can tell it that you have a static homepage and it is called "Home" - or main or anything you prefer.
But I would suggest you bookmark your admin page for the times when you need to edit.
