Blog posts displaying data about category, date, featured image.... twice!

So I created a template for my posts in elementor, where it shows the date, category, title and featured image (the blue box in the image below). However, as of recently, it displays the default info of my theme aswell (the green box),so everything gets duplicated. Any ideas how I can remove this from my posts?

I have a staging site where this issue does not persist but I'm having trouble to find out what the discrepancies are.

As a test insert this following css in your posts template
.cms-blog-item {
display: none;
}
This should now hide the blog layout from your theme on your live site whilst you look into the reason why.

I would create a new template and assign a condition to category and test
