applying styling to "post comments" widget

The "leave comments" that is rendered by the "post comments" widget in the twenty nineteen theme is hideous. Of course like many Elementor widgets there are no styling controls. Can styling be somehow applied or will I be forced to create a custom comments form? Trying to apply styling via custom CSS in the widget control doesn't work.

I assume you are using Elementor Free, the best advice is use a child theme in your case Twenty Nineteen. Then add your css styling to that child themes style.css file.

No, I'm using Elementor Pro which is why this is so exasperating.

I solved the problem - using the wpDiscuz plugin instead. It would still be helpful to know why the "post comments" widget can't be styled, but wpDiscuz may in fact be a better solution anyway.
