Hi all

Created an account here now to let you know not to update to Elementor v3.0.0 yet.

It causes problems in WooCommerce, as well as other plugins. (Backend pages fill up with code & do not display. Error : "Server error, see Elementor => System Info"

It also seems to cause problems in the Object Cache.

So far it seems like we've been very lucky, 70+ websites updated and only one that had a problem with the theme builder not loading, luckily that particular site is fairly static so we dont have to rush and find the cause.

This is our process of updating :

1. Update all WP Core and plugins except Elementor + Elementor pro
2. Update Elementor 3.0.1 and Pro together.
3. Goto Elementor - settings - Advanced - Enable Optimized DOM Output
4. Goto Elementor - tools - Regenerate CSS
5. Goto Elementor - tools - Sync Library
6. Clear/purge any Site caching plugin installed
7. Clear/purge any hosting or DNS related Caching ( such as cloudflare )
8. Hard refresh on frontend to ensure all site elements are working as expected .
9. Go back to Admin panel, click on theme builder. Most of the time you are presented with an error, ctnl F5 ( hard refresh ) and the new theme builder should load.

Do final checks and all is fine.

The only site we've come across so far with an issue is one which someone else setup, installed a bunch of plugins. I suspect the biggest problems people have are not with the updates themselves, but their 3rd party reliances which havent got around to updating.

****Disclaimer, please note the above process is simply what we do because we know our custom themes, frameworks and use minimal plugins, follow at your own risk. Always have a backup.

As of yet, nothing woocommerce/elementor related. We had some problems with Woocommerce after the Woocommerce and Wordpress 5.5 updates a few weeks back but so far i've not seen any problems with this Elementor update.

That said, alot of our sites are hybrid's, so we don't completely rely on Elementor all of the time for the entire site ( header/footer/woocommerce etc ) and we do actively try and no use plugins unless absolutely vital to opperations.

Yes they've released 3.0.1 about an hour ago, it fixes alot of the problems some people have had. Another release in the next day or so apparently aswell to fix other bugs.

Thank you so much. This is the first time I've posted here, your response time is amazing.

I've been looking for a good Elementor Community to refer to and I think I've found it.

No problem, although probably lucky we're online at the same time on this occation, this forum is still very new and doesnt have that many helpers as such, more people looking for help, so the more people here helping the better it will become :)

I'm a firm believer than this format style of forum discussion still holds great value of acrchived information which places like Facebook groups can not provide in the same way :)

Hope you stick around and share your knowledge going forward too :)

New version is wicked messy. Can't delete sections unless you delete every element and column, first. Elements disappear until you both save AND refresh page. Can't clear color choices. Loading swirls are offset on other menu options. I'm using v3 on a perfectly new Wordpress install and it feels really sloppy. Page headers still appear when in "Elementor Canvas" mode. I love Elementor, but this feels like a new Windows release experience.

Hi,
I have imported my website from localhost to server and in page builder I can't update. ( server error 400 bad request ). I deleted one section and problem disappeared (only on one page),but when I added some text and changed it color to white I've got error 400 again. Please, do someone know how to fix it ?

I didn't know this problem existed so I followed the guide for when updates don't work. It says to install the original from my account. Now I have elem at 3.0.2 and pro at 2.10.3.. literally afraid to open a page and mess it up.

Also, if I try to update, all sites say "unauthorized". So i'm going to be a little patient and wait till everything seems ok. I just started development and was experimenting the builder. Don't want to lose faith as I see the ease of using this product and hope it clears out the update bugs.

Same here. These bugs are crazy!
I manually updated the plugin and the issues stayed.

Here also lots of issues ..
- Absolute positioned items on different place after update
- Navigator doesn't load
- z-index not working
- Popup colors in column doesn't show
- vertical aligned text on some places not working
- ..

Also
I don't like the fact that after every update i have to manualy check and clean the cache of each site (+10) because of messed up layouts. (Templates / parts like header images ..) .. with other page builders never a problem. So using MainWP for example is of no use for Elementor. You can not easy go resting after updating then ..

I'm not that 'techi' but i think that something can be build in .. like rebuild files and clean cache?

But; great builder! .. only these issues .. mmmm ..

hey everyone!
just registered to write about bugs in 3.0.3

1) Can't copy any section - elements inside section disappear after copy.
2) can't move sections - elements inside them disappear in prosess.
3) if I change background image for section, or delete one - any elements inside disappear and to see it again I have to reload full page or log out and log in again.
4) From time to time after reloading page with page-builder causes "Can't load elementor page-builder" message and "go back" button to WP admin panel, and its happening again and again.
5) A looot of sections for some reason can't show their settings in Chrome browser, though show it inside page builder. Page sometimes loads only with section's background visible, without any content, sometimes with pre-made settings for any elements inside sections, like I havnt' made any custom settings there.

It's really impossible to continue to build a site. I'm new to site building and didn't know that updates can be so hard) and this updates was automatically, now I actually see the message about "update or not", but this first update to 3.0 was without asking just in the middle of my work there.

Elementor 3.x (including the latest release) crashes my site. Elementor 2.x does not. I have downgraded to 2.9.14. Everything works fine. Any version above that crashes. I'll try new versions periodically, but this is not good.

OP a valuable warning I missed but I thankfully I did not hit anything hard as the bugs outlined here, such that they were solved once it went past the first V3 release.

Despite all the negatives - I did notice an uptick in incremental updates to both the elementor plugins and this did solve some of the minor issues I hit initially.

I was in the middle of designing a site and I could not drop any blocks into any section, but it resolved within a few hours after an early update.

Hopefully they'll get their soon for most end users.

It sounds like peopleneed to start with their latest sites and upgrade those first, as they may be on more updated enviroemtn considering PHP versions issues that can kill an install.

Older install, backup backup backup, before you decide to do anything! Then take it nice and slow. ;)

I force some install with historical clients needing to be overhauled to get them uptodate, beyond running a few plugin updates.

Do you bill them down the line or do it for free, I guess it all depends on a client-install by client-install basis.
